Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) February 2026 for candidates who wish to become teachers for Classes I to VIII in central government schools such as KVS, NVS, and other institutions. Eligible candidates can apply online once the official notification is released.

Eligibility Criteria

For Paper I (Class I to V – Primary Stage)

  • 10+2 (Intermediate) with at least 50% marks and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed)
    OR
  • 10+2 with 45% marks and D.El.Ed (as per NCTE norms)
    OR
  • Graduation with D.El.Ed

For Paper II (Class VI to VIII – Elementary Stage)

  • Graduation with B.Ed
    OR
  • Graduation with 50% marks and B.Ed
    OR
  • 10+2 with 50% marks and 4-year B.El.Ed

Paper I (Primary Stage)

  • Child Development & Pedagogy – 30 Marks
  • Language I – 30 Marks
  • Language II – 30 Marks
  • Mathematics – 30 Marks
  • Environmental Studies – 30 Marks

Total Marks: 150
Duration: 2.5 Hours

Paper II (Elementary Stage)

  • Child Development & Pedagogy – 30 Marks
  • Language I – 30 Marks
  • Language II – 30 Marks
  • Mathematics & Science (for Math/Science Teacher) – 60 Marks
    OR
  • Social Studies/Social Science (for Social Studies Teacher) – 60 Marks

Total Marks: 150
Duration: 2.5 Hours


Qualifying Marks

  • General Category: 60% (90 Marks out of 150)
  • SC / ST / OBC / PwD: 55% (as per government norms)

  • Written Examination (Paper I / Paper II / Both)
  • Certificate Verification
