Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) February 2026 for candidates who wish to become teachers for Classes I to VIII in central government schools such as KVS, NVS, and other institutions. Eligible candidates can apply online once the official notification is released.

Eligibility Criteria
For Paper I (Class I to V – Primary Stage)
- 10+2 (Intermediate) with at least 50% marks and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed)
OR - 10+2 with 45% marks and D.El.Ed (as per NCTE norms)
OR - Graduation with D.El.Ed
For Paper II (Class VI to VIII – Elementary Stage)
- Graduation with B.Ed
OR - Graduation with 50% marks and B.Ed
OR - 10+2 with 50% marks and 4-year B.El.Ed

- Child Development & Pedagogy – 30 Marks
- Language I – 30 Marks
- Language II – 30 Marks
- Mathematics – 30 Marks
- Environmental Studies – 30 Marks

Paper II (Elementary Stage)
- Child Development & Pedagogy – 30 Marks
- Language I – 30 Marks
- Language II – 30 Marks
- Mathematics & Science (for Math/Science Teacher) – 60 Marks
OR - Social Studies/Social Science (for Social Studies Teacher) – 60 Marks
Total Marks: 150
Duration: 2.5 Hours
Qualifying Marks
- General Category: 60% (90 Marks out of 150)
- SC / ST / OBC / PwD: 55% (as per government norms)
