UPTET 2026 (Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test) notification has been released by the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), Prayagraj. This exam is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates who want to become teachers in government and government-aided schools in Uttar Pradesh for classes 1–5 (Primary) and 6–8 (Upper Primary).

UPTET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 Years
  • Maximum Age: 35 Years
  • Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government rules.

Educational Qualification

For Primary Level (Class 1–5)

Candidates must have any of the following:

  • 12th pass with 50% marks + D.El.Ed / BTC
  • 12th pass with 45% marks + D.El.Ed
  • Graduation + B.Ed

For Upper Primary Level (Class 6–8)

  • Graduation + B.Ed
  • Graduation + D.El.Ed
  • Final-year students of B.Ed / D.El.Ed can also apply.
